boosted98gst
people like him are the reason why our import communities have to prove our selves. i think most of our bad reps came from Columbus square days to the Sonic weekend meetings. all the nice imports were over run with crap, and high school kids speeding in parking lots. I really feel with builds like this we are taking a big step in the right direction! This year it will getting better.

DaddyBuiltRacing
1/16/10: Well today I got something I had been waiting on for 4 months now lol. No its not a clutch, its not a set of Drive Shaft Shop 1000hp axles, no its not that Bullseye Power turbo I plan on getting....you guessed it, its my Baby On Board stickers lmfao!! I got not 1 but 2 of these bad boys, and to make it even better, I got a portable bottle warmer. This badboy plugs in the cigarette lighter and heats bottles on the go lmfao!! Oh yeah I also got the upper alternator bracket bolts that I ordered from Honda a couple days ago: http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/100_2272.jpg http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/100_2274.jpg
SiColin
Havent been able to post on this build on OH (edsihon). Everything looks great man, seems to be coming along nicely. As far as the powder coating goes people can't really say much when it does have a function. I wish all my intercooler piping was powder coated instead of spray painted so I wouldn't have to keep re painting it once a year. So do you think your have your car back on the road this summer or is that kind of unrealistic?
DaddyBuiltRacing
Yeah fuck what others think lol. I do plan on having my car on the road by summer.
DaddyBuiltRacing
1/17/10: Janurary in Ohio, gotta love it!! Nothing else to do so I started tearing apart the stock engine harness to get it ready for tucking. Figured it was easiest to mock it up while its out of the car. I noticed I am not gonna be using a couple plugs due to the Victor X not having places for all the stock sensors. Here is the harness mocked up on engine stand after cutting the old tape and loom off. I haven't started to "tuck" it yet, just got everything mounted and labled so I know what plug goes where. http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/100_2276.jpg Heres some of the old tape and loom that will no longer be needed. You would be suprised just how sticky this shit is 15 years later lol. http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/100_2275.jpg I already have some tube shrink and wire laying around from the gf's CRX wire tuck. I will be ordering flame retardent kevlar loom for the entire harness next month most likely.
Main3s
Wow, looks great man! I look forward to seeing it in the car. I wish I had the skill / knowledge to do a build on my own. keep up the great work.
DaddyBuiltRacing
Thank you, hopefully its in the car and running by April. 1/18/10: My buddy whom I bought my transmission off of went through his box of transmission parts yesterday. In that box he found several sliders, which is what is wrong with my transmission. Freebie!!! Hopefully one of these bad boys is the correct one, we shall see once I tear my trans apart. http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/100_2277.jpg
DaddyBuiltRacing
1/25/10: Well since I am going to be doing my wire tucked engine harness this coming weekend, I figured I might as well start buying supplies. I found these nifty little things at Radio Shack, wire labels. You know the same thing that Rywire and Chasebays charge $100 bucks extra to do? Yeah those same things that cost me $2.34 after tax for 24 of them. http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/labels2.jpg http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/labels.jpg
DaddyBuiltRacing
1/28/10: One hell of a deal falls into my lap today. A buddy falls into shitty luck and is forced to sell his Full Blown Twin Walbro setup. This setup goes intank which is nice since I really don't wanna hassle with running an intank and inline pump, plus I don't want to run an external pump like a Weldon or Aeromotive and just have it hanging under my car. We'll just say the price I paid for this is what the hanger sells for alone http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/fullblown3.jpg http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/fullblown2.jpg http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/fullblown.jpg

Slomo Eric
12/10/09: Well I got another update for ya lol. About 4pm today I got a phone call from the powder coating shop letting me know my cover was done. Now I have never used this shop before so I was hoping for the best....and I am happy with the results!! I will be taking my motor mounts and oil pan in more then likely to have them color matched as well as my suspension to be powder coated. If you need any stuff powder coated just pm me. I can prob get you a hookup on pricing. They have ovens big enough to do truck frames http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/100_2093.jpg http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/100_2094.jpg http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/100_2092.jpg I love Gold!! integranator
If you plan on as much hp as you are claiming, stock crank pulley = no no. ATI or fluidampner only. Its a very cheap investment for a lot of benefit to your motor.

DaddyBuiltRacing
1/31/10: Wire tuck day!! Only worked on it for a couple hours but pretty happy with what I got done today. Got the fuel injector harness all done and mocked up on the motor. Here is what I started with today: http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/100_2346.jpg Borrowed my buddies Haynes manual and started going through the wiring schematics to figure out which wire goes to which plug. After figuring out what went where I started to cut wires label them: http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/100_2333.jpg I decided to start on the fuel injectors first since there is only 8 wires for them. I started with injector #1 and worked over to #4, soldered every connection point that I had cut, electrical taped it and heat shrunk it as well. (I changed how soldered the wires together after this pic was taken so it lays more flush instead of pointed upwards): http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/100_2347.jpg http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/100_2348.jpg Then I took the labels that I had bought from Radio Shack and started to label the injectors individually (also labled the entire loom later on for future reference): http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/100_2349.jpg Got the fuel injector harness soldered, taped, labeled and loomed: http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/100_2355.jpg Then it was mock up time: http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/100_2350.jpg http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/100_2354.jpg http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/100_2351.jpg And finally just a shot of what it now looks like looking at the motor with the injectors and plugs installed: http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p81/alittlelessordinary/Car%20Pics/4dr%20GSR/100_2353.jpg I will be finishing up the rest of the harness this week, gonna work on it at night after work, so bare with me. I'll have updates as progress is made
DaddyBuiltRacing
2/8/10: While I was at work today, I had the gf who was playing hooky from work take my stock flywheel to the machine shop to be resurfaced. It will be done tomorrow, but I prob wont be able to pick it up til later in the week due to work schedule.
DaddyBuiltRacing
2/9/10: One thing is for sure, traction is going to be an issues with this thing! So I took a step in the right direction to help solve those issues, called up MFactory and picked up one of their Helical LSD's. Mista Bone is supposed to come up this Sunday and tear my trans apart. After we get it all torn apart the internals are going up north to be Cryo Treated. The casing will be going out to my powder coater to be sand blasted and sprayed silver. Next up on the "to buy" list is Carbon Synchros from gear-speed and some bearings/seals and the trans will be done!!
Ef8sirJunkie
nice josh. who are you sending to cryo treat? email the info later i might go the same route and i want Bone to build mine.
FyrhzrdGT
Build looks great, I love when people put a lot of attention to detail into a motor build, a lot of it ends up not being visible, but when you get everything this clean you'll certainly notice overall. It's going to look great in the car.
DaddyBuiltRacing
2/11/10: Happy early valentines day to me!! Courtesy of the gf ARP flywheel bolts are ordered from Jegs. Just 1 more small thing taken off my "to buy" list. Future father in law is picking my flywheel up from machine shop for me tomorrow due to my work schedule, also hopefully parts at the powder coater and done and hopefully my lsd arrives. Could be a big day tomorrow
