MrMeanGreen
I've replaced the sealed beams on the green car with bulb enclosures, H7s to be specific. I'm looking at HID kits and it's being mentioned that a relay harness is optional for "optimum" bulb life and less stress on my factory harness. Yet, they also state that HIDs use 40% less power than their incandescent counterparts, so does this mean a relay harness in all actuality isn't needed since there is less power draw? Thanks. Guest Removed
seems to be plug and play to me... depending on the kit of course
MrMeanGreen
The only issue right now is that my factory plug uses smaller leads for the sealed beam connectors, and the H7 connectors have to be trimmed smaller to fit inside my factory plug. I'm debating on creating a small harness that will fit the H7s and plug into my factory plug. I just don't want ten miles of wiring under my hood. excell
You'll be fine with a PnP kit. Some vehicles with weaker electrical systems, or vehicles with a lot of electrical components (stereo, neon, etc.) benefit from a separate harness. For example, when I put a kit in my Trailblazer it will be PnP. If I put one in the plastic car it will get a harness because Saturn didn't engineer a strong electrical setup. If I put one in the SVO it would absolutely get one. Make sense? The wiring kit is bigger power (switched through a relay) and ground wires. That's all. MrMeanGreen
Yup, makes sense
smokin5s
go with the 5k, most kits are plug and play... mine would have been done in less than 5 minutes if I didn't have to pull the fucking bumper off to replace a bulb.
