stolen 5.0
I have an 89 honda accord LX-i that after about 5-8 minutes it will just stop running. I'm figuring it has something to do with a cold start and a sensor. All the usual plugs, wires, distisbutor, coil, fuel pump, relay have been replaced. After it dies, there is still spark, and it will restart in 15 minutes. The nice think is I have 2 of these cars sitting next to each other and the other runs perfect, so I can swap test parts. I'm just not sure what parts to swap now. Any help would be cool since i'm not a honda expert Fowler P.S. this car needs a hoblick rattle can and buff job. SinisterSS
sounds like its the main relay, its a common problem on all honda/acura cars, its located under the driver side usually kick panel area, steering colum
SinisterSS
Main relay is a possable but they normaly just will not start not true, tap on it with a screw driver while cranking it over and it'll start, see it all the time
Buckeye1647545503
I know that but most of the time once they are running they stay running
Zach1647545520
My integra use to shut off due to the main relay but only on hot humid days. Probably something to do with you going into closed loop.
SinisterSS
I know that but most of the time once they are running they stay running for awhile then it gets worse, best thing to do is replace it $50-$60 i think, also make sure the electrical portion of the ignition switch isn't your problem, these 2 items are gonna be your main cause for this issue but 9 out of 10 times its the main relay

stolen 5.0
damn, how could the main relay be 60 bucks. give me a schmetic and i'll build one. I also found that the ecu/ radio fuse under the hood was bad last night. I was waiting for silicone to try so I couldn't start it.
