Edit: Found my answer... Link The answer tells me that for what I would be doing, the 9850 would be the better choice (x264 compression is highly important to me). If you already have a compatible board, that is he ONLY reason you'd want to invest anything into the platform. Otherwise: Having the balls to charge $215 for the Phenom II 940 is amazing. AMD's big sell is that if you have an existing AM2 board, you still have a "viable" upgrade path. Intel took 775 as far as they wanted it.
