started on this a few nights ago. then ran out of gasket sealer yada yada and stupid crap like that kept happening. its all back together now. but wont fire. timming is majorly off so ill get that taken care of tonight hopefully if i can go pick up a timming pointer.

 

and the red vacum caps are just temperary..

yeah i know. mu buddy did it while i was in back off the car. and now. the housing is leaking. broke the first one lol. and timming is horrible off. but i got to get colant leak fixed first then onto timming. thanks dave for the timming pointer!

Everyone is murdering out there 5l engine bays.

 

What paint did you use?..

 

 

duplicolors high heat engine paint. good stuff.

 

was your engine as clean as mine?

 

Black is hotness I need to do mine in black

 

and sorry bout not calling you back got busy ill come over saturday or somehring we can work on both the cars, did you take the distributor out or somehting?

 

yeah. veryyyyyy clean. no gunk or anytime. cleanier then yours autually. lol

looking good. i've used the duplicolors high heat paint with good success--after cleaning the parts and applying a self-etching primer, which it looks like you did.

 

these cars should have marks on the crank damper, and a timing pointer on them.

yeah there are marks. but the timming pointer was MIA.

timming is set. it runs. but i think i got vacum leaks, but i know the plugs are fouled so going to replace them tomm and then go from there and trace down vacum leaks.

 

use brake clean...did you forget the one under the upper? :p

Is your car stalling/idling low? Mine still does this every now and then after my swap... I have been unable to locate the leak though, even with brake clean.

what was the fuel problem?

 

a lack of fuel

 

tank was bone dry and they are standing there telling me " well gas comes out of the valve" which was mostly vapor

lol i know. i feel like a dildo for it. i put 5 gallons in it about 3 weeks ago. guess ive been letting it sit and idel alot more then i thought.
