If you crunch the numbers, a t3 flange has around 4.5 in^2 of cross sectional area, with an EGT of let's say, 1400, you are looking at 1400hp of flow before you reach choke flow. Comparing to a t4 flange, which measures 5.5in^2 cross sectional, using the same 1400 EGT, chokes at 1700hp.

 

To support that kind of power you obviously would need some very specific wheels and housings.

 

Just putting it out there, the flange won't be a limitation.

I don't think I need to post anything regarding single turbos because Rob L has already posted it, and the man knows his shit.

 

Having the truck frame is nice as pointed out, which makes twins much easier to implement. If you are going junkyard hunting for the twins, the turbos off the 80's Nissan 300ZX would work, the earlier models had T25s and later models had T3s. EVO 16G's would work, along with 2.3 Turbo's.
