6 Speed S4
So I blew a turbo on my DD and it needs a timing belt/water pump. I figured I might as well do everything on this motor and make it run for a while. Heres whats getting done: -crank seal -timing belt kit with pullys -rebuild the k03s for now until I can afford some k06s -thermostat and gasket -beefy stainless oil return lines -valve cover gaskets -serp belt -rear main seal and gasket and then what ever else is needed along the way... Heres some pics before and the start of the process: http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/2837/picture006f.jpg http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/8772/picture010e.jpg After pulling the front end: http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/5589/picture011u.jpg http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/5628/picture012zhu.jpg http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/8476/picture013w.jpg I'll keep updating as the process happens.

6 Speed S4
Got the valve covers off (bringing them to the parts cleaner at school), drained all the fluids, all the wiring harnesses are pulled and labeled. I got a few down pipe bolts off but cant get one. I'll try tomorrow morning. TurboNova
yup getting the engine out is the easy part, getting the turbos out is a complete day project. I can remember my buddies who work at Audi changing those turbos all the time....what junk

Ry_Trapp01647545522
is it worth the trouble? i'm in love with the B5 S4s! i dont have the cash right now, but i'm gonna get one eventually.
CRed05
huh I always thought they were K06s. Thats what a lot of people are using now. Nope, k04. The differance is the that inducer and exducer are a couple millimeters larger on the rs6 than the rs4, but the biggest gain is that the hotside housing is larger. On the rs4 they are k04-25 and 26, on the rs6 they are k04-27 and 28 they are also modified to be a bolt on, can't just take them off an rs6 and put them on an s4/rs4
Guest Removed
get them valve cover powder coated or something..they look horrid. i have heard the turbos on these just suck to deal with. ive done the timing belt/wp on them before, just kind of suck to have to take most of the nose apart. Its totally worth it in my opinion. Changing out the stockers for slightly larger turbos to go from 250hp to 500+...hell yea. I may be biased though
6 Speed S4
Yep I will change the turbos once I move back to some beasts but for now stock k03's with apr software. I'm stuck yet again on the half shaft bolts, no one carries a 12 point torx 10mm in town Gotta see if school can get me one tomorrow. Yeah the valve covers are going to schools part washer, then power coated black. And I agree these cars are a pain since you gotta remove the front end for anything lol

6 Speed S4
Okay got my tools for the half shafts, got them out, unbolted the motor, drive shaft, transmission mounts, put the car back on the ground and called it a night. Tomorrow the motor is coming out for sure. I have pics of the progress I'll upload tomorrow morning and explain the trouble I ran into with some broken suspension parts from the previous owner.
