Billiumss Posted April 20, 2009 Report Share Posted April 20, 2009 About a year ago, I upgraded my video from on-board to a real video card. I bought a XFX Geforce 8600 256mb PCI Express x16 card. Works great but the fan noise is starting to get to me. You stop the video card fan with your finger and all is quiet. I really don't play that many video games so don't need top of the line. Fubar231 Posted April 20, 2009 Report Share Posted April 20, 2009 Id just suggest getting a program by XFX or nVidia (I have a XFX 9800GTX+) and just turning the fan speed down a little. If you not gaming it shouldn't have to be up high. Also if your running AMD you can turn on the Cool'N'Quiet technoligy.
