Bam
I'm trying to see if locking in a low Natural gas rate for the next 12 months would be a good idea. Over the past 17 months I've paid as high as $1.42 per ccf (July 08) and as low as $.76 (last month) per ccf. My average over the past 17 months is about $1.17 per ccf. Columbia Gas is offering to lock in $.81 per ccf for the next twelve months, anyone ever done this? Now I know my rate is lower now, but it doesn't really matter during the summer when I don't use much gas, but during the winter my bills have creeped up near $300/month at $1.19/ccf, which is my average ccf cost these past two winters I've been in my house. Has anyone locked in anywhere else cheaper? Does anyone know or follow what natural gas rates are trending? Thanks
