well im starting a short project with the new bike..

taking all the body work off and getting it painted.

ill be doing all of the prep work.. sanding fixing a few bad spots, and putting it in primer, then handing it off to 614streets (will) brother paul for paint.

he did a friend of mines 99 R6 with incredible results (i did all the prep work on that bike as well)

currently the bike looks like this..

and will be transformed into this

my wheels will be staying black, and he will be tinting the turn signals and tail light.

so far i have gotten all the body work off besides the tank.

the engine, chain, swingarm was pretty dirty so i decided to degrease everything and hit it with the pressure washer while i had it apart.

i also did an oil change since it was due, and switched it over to Mobile 1 4T full synthetic.

ill be throwing a K&N in as well since ill have it apart.

pics soon to come.

I am thinking of just selling it. I cancelled the insurance on it already and will probably let someone else have it if I can think of a fair price.

well i got pretty much everything sanded down besides the gas tank which i will be starting tomorrow night.

was gonna put everything in primer, but i have no primer left, so ill either go pick some up, or just have paul seal it before he shoots it.

thanks for the kind words guys.. more progress..

got my ass up today and went and got some primer, and also picked up the decals for the tank (stock white honda graphic, says HONDA with the wing) that will be cleared in.

here are the pieces hanging after a wipe down, ready to shoot some primer.

and done with primer...

now i just need to get the tank prepped (which ill start tonight), hit it with some primer, then do a final sand on all the pieces then take it to paul on friday.

while all the body work is off getting painted ill install the K&N and clean up some of the the other misc parts, headlights, gauge cluster trip, etc.

and a few fresh from primer...

now all i have to do is sand it smooth, and go to about a 800 grit for a nice smooth finish on everything.

then its off to paint on friday.

im way ahead of schedule on this project, something that normally doesnt happen. even got the K&N installed tonight as well.

so as far as the side stuff goes, all i have to do is clean up some of the misc panels, and covers, and polish out the headlights and windscreen while its in paint.

and then clean the damn garage... its getting dusty in there lol
