SPL_Josh Posted May 21, 2009 Report Share Posted May 21, 2009 I've deceided to sell my Lightning. I bought my L after searching on/off for 2 years to find a CLEAN and DECENT truck worth owning. After I bought the truck the tranny went out (input shaft). I had Glenn at AAMCO replace the transmission, when replaceing the strengthened the transmission to hold roughly 400-500hp. I have kept all of the service records since i have owned this truck. The main reason for selling is that it is 2wd, which of course all L's are but it didnt think it would have been that big of a problem until i couldn't get out of my driveway 3 times last winter. I am selling the truck to get a 4 wheel drive. Other than getting stuck i have not complaints about the truck, it has served me well. I average 12-15mpg depending on driving habits. I have never had the truck to the drap strip and never neglected. I work in baltimore, live in carroll (so basically lancaster) How is the underside as far as rust? Do you have stock non-black wheels for it? Those are the stock wheels painted black. I sure you can pick up gen 1 wheels cheap, or gen 2 wheels and spacers. I do have DJM 3" drop I-beams that will be going with the truck. The flip kit consists of a bracket, but i have lost it. I know they are the stock wheels, I just wondered if you had another non-black set. It's rare to find a 1st gen with a clean underbody - I am interested though I'm not sold on black yet.
