Just a idea about racing.

Look this may be fucking retarded but I'm tossing it out there. I think I'm missing some logistics but I'm not sure.

what would it take to create a nonprofit who's sole reason in life would be

to help prevent street racing by renting out runways or even trying

to get sponsors to buy a piece of land not for from columbus to race at.

I've seen drag races at the air port before. Like legit ones. What does

it take to own a piece of land and have a area that you could race at

your own risk.

Or even a club. You join or by donation your a member and get access

to a "Park" that has some area where people can do like 8th miles or something.

This sounds stupid so I start by flaming my self

Your a idiot it would never work.

to much of a insurance risk for any body to want to do it

Not for the SCCA or any dragway, or any other racing organization. It comes down to cost. It'd probably be a couple hundred per day.

I think having a place available at night for racing would help. It's too bad it'd be impractical to get a hold of a stretch a mile or more long. Then people could do 40 rolls and the like..

i like this idea... 40 and 60 rolls lol...

they do this out at state college in PA theres a big circle some farmer had in his back yard... some kid asked.. and so far about 5 years running not one problem...

there alot of youtube vieos of it.. and nothing is formal.. i think the farmer and some guy signed a release agreement stating anyone who goes onto his property with such and such a person therby releasing him of any responsability.

idk jsut my guess... i know i ripped up alot fo tires there just doing burnouts and shit.

Totally agree. Even if you have all the partakers sign an agreement they could still come back and find a reason to sue. No reason to put your neck on the line even if there was a contract in place.

Could you get around that with a good Legal binding agreement ?

Those are pretty good when it comes to damaged property, but if some one gets hurt or otherwise gets a big enough bug up their ass, they can challenge that in court and cause all sorts of trouble.

The LAPD acctually organized something like that back in the 70's or 80's. Huge success, so of course the citizens bitched and had the program stopped.

me, fowler, and some other guys from back home used to go up to an old airstrip this guy owned that wasnt in use anymore (except for his ultralite and stuff) he let us race there.

hell some people from CR even made it down for it before the guy saw it was getting popular and then actually made it into a paid event with a tree and everythign..

then thats when it got lame.

it was more fun when it was just alot of friends hangin out, droppin hands, and racing.

and i loved doing big burnouts there lol

I think it would cut down on street racing allot. I know I HATE to goto NT on a friday. I in a street car get to watch the nitrous and 9 second cars make lots of passes while my lain doesn't move

i did my senior paper and my college paper on street racing and i looked into the airstrip thing. there are shit tons and most of the small ones don't even allow night landings so when it gets dark they are useless. lets stop being wastefull selfish americans and put this to good use.

...maybe if we all chip in. and there in lies the problem racing on the street is free anything else we try to do is not.

our only other option is do what some other countries and i think california used to do not sure if they still do, and close of a section of road and let us do our thing but when that happens you get the same problem you have before and it gets to crowded.

to many people not enough time just makes the people find somewhere else to do it.
