Finally decided to start tearing it down.

 

Did a leak down test, wish I had a video for those of you who weren't there, it had a lot of air coming out of the valve cover. So we have decided it's rings.

What I'll be doing:

Diamond or Manley Pistons and rings

.020 Over

ARP Main Studs

ARP Rod Bolts

ARP Head Studs

New Stock Head Gaskets

Clevite OEM Rod Bearings

Canton Oil Windage Tray

FRPP HV Oil Pump

 

If I have the dough:

Detroit Locker

Moser 31 Spline Axles

TA Performance 8.8 Girdle

UPR Upper an Lowers

MAC 3'' Catback

 

Eventually my goal is (with a custom blow thu setup) and of course the Hellion kit, this is on a TT car

during the leak down test if it was your rings it would have leaked into the crankcase not the valve cover. good luck on your build though

 

Where would the air leaking down to the crankcase go? Not trying to be a smartass.

What kind of exhaust should I go with? Custom maybe? I can't seem to find an affordable 3'' for my junk.

well if i knew your setup. i'm sure i could make you what you need.3" would be rather easy to do. a bullet design muffler with a straight through design would be best. cause back pressure on a turbo is the last thing you want.

 

I should have thought about it a little harder.

 

:gtfo: but its ok. most dont under stand when you dump oil in the valve cover it goes to the crankcase.:p and when you hook 100psi of air into the cylinder, and the oil fill tube is like a wind tunnel, there is either a hole in the piston, or the ring lands have found a new vertical groove to try and ride in.;)

On our last 2 turbo cars we put electric cutouts in the exhaust. Cool part is with it closed it sounds stock, with it open 0 back pressure plus sounds bad ass.
