secondly hitler refused to put the "german assault rifle" into production the weapon that the AK-47 was based off of, i'm not sure what they called it mp-44 doens't matter the point is he refused to produce it because he thought it was ugly because it was made out of stamped parts.

 

Sturmgewehr- "Storm Rifle" is what it translates to.

The Soviets took over the factory post WWII.

The Sturmgewher was used in WWII IIRC. Hitler originally didn't like it but one of his generals pushed for the rifles use. Once Hitler saw it fired, he ordered it.

The MG42 design was influenced on our M60 MG.

V2 rocket was the first liquid propelled rocket, again that influenced later rocket technology.

They influenced us with fear too. One of the biggest reasons we began the Manhattan Project was because we were afraid Germany would create the nuclear bomb first.

 

So much of the world now can be attributed to the WWII period.
