Ever done it? I am trying to figure out how to properly remove the snap ring to disassemble the new axle so i can reassemble it in the carrier with the new bearings.

Here are Durablue's wonderful instructions: http://www.durablue.com/user_pages/applications_20_1153_1.shtml

ahhh, those are a pain. Try outside snap ring pliers in the gap, and pop it up out of the groove, where you can wiggle it off the shaft. That or two little screwdrivers.... Hopefully it doesn't scratch the shaft. Shaft should be harder than the snap ring.

If you use just enough tension to remove the ring then it should be reusable.

If you bend the crap out of it then it will not be reusable.

Most manuals recommend installing new lock rings, circlips, locknuts etc.

Depending on how much time and trouble it is to get a new fastener, I 90% of the time use the old ones and have never had a problem.

Good Luck

Disclamer: I have never installed a Durablue axel on an ATV
