50 BMG Upper?

The lower doesn't matter much, as far as material or strength go. You will want to consider a heavier hammer and/or hammer spring (because of the 50BMG primers), and a buttstock appropriate for the increased recoil. All that said, you will wait a long time for a Bohica, the guy is pretty grumpy, and I've witnessed a lot of extraction issues on my brother's (apparently the new bolt handle helps, though).

The Bohica (aka "Bend Over Here It Comes Again", seriously that's the story) upper is apparently somewhat crude but cheap. The guys behind it are straightforward, so they will work with you on problems, as they want to succeed. Overall it is great for the price from what I hear. They have been very good with follow-up for the guys on http://www.thehighroad.com so I would think they would be good for you, but YMMV.

Wow. That's about the cheapest way you can possibly get into a .50BMG anything

The design of the AR-15 puts almost zero stress on the Lower itself. The Buffer Tube and the Upper takes the grunt of the force ;)

Looks to be single shot bolt action. I'm assuming the buffer tube won't be used at all, since it's not auto-loading.

the Beowulf .50 is another option.

I can't see the site from work, but .50 Beowulf < .50 BMG by a wide margin

The BOHICA upper will drop right on any lower, and shouldn't stress it hardly at all. I would go forged vs. cast as my only caveat. I would go with something like a MagPul PRS stock or even a full A2 stock with the .50 BMG upper.

My BOHICA 50. I love it and I'm getting acceptable accuracy considering my load uses surplus pulled bullets and surplus pulled powder.
