Couple quick questions

1. How hard is it to replace the seal on the front of my rearend? I know there's a name for it but I can't think of it. It's making a mess as seen in this pic:

2. Can you tell by looking at this pic if this flex plate is okay shape to use?

Here's the reason for making that awful noise in the video from my other thread:

debating on having a local shop do this for me. I don't have a torque wrench:o

dont really need a torque wrench...just dont get it too tight or too loose.

basiclly just setting it to rolling torque really.

maybe I will do it then.

that flywheel has some burn/ chatter marks on it if its a beater you can probably just clean it up with a whizzy wheel and some brake clean and be good

It is just a beater but I don't want to have to tear it back down any time soon. Just a wire wheel on a drill or what?

sand paper disc(roloc style) on a angle grinder will do the trick...

replace that rear main seal while your there tho...just IMO.

Was thinking about it but this thing doesn't leak a bit of oil. Not even a drop. It leaks other shit though lol

Can I just use some sandpaper by hand? If so, what grit? I'm assuming I just want some shine without cutting a bunch off right?

bt what oil/fluid do I put in the transmission. Found this in a T5 manual

"2-4. APPROVED LUBRICANT. Most T5

transmission models use DexronÒ II automatic

transmission fluid. Refer the vehicle owner’s manual

or service manual for lubricant specifications.

CAUTION

Do not mix different bands or types of transmission

lubricant. DO NOT USE GEAR OIL IN THE T5

TRANSMISSION SINCE THIS MAY DAMAGE THE

BLOCKING RING MATERIAL."

so auto transmission fluid? Can some one confirm this.
