It was fine on the way to our trip then the second day it started doing it. Happens when giving it gas more when climbing even small inclines, hard gassing doesnt do it, maintaining speed doesnt do it, just when described above. Did we get bad gas? v-8 engine. Any suggestions? Its surginging in a kind of what I woulddescribe as a popping manner, no noises, kinda fells like your going over small bumps, but its due to the engine loosing power for split seconds. Guest Removed Posted September 30, 2009 Report Share Posted September 30, 2009 the 4.0 sohc, and dohc is known for vacuum leaks. these , not so much. could also be a clogged fuel filter etc. have also seen poor valve seating cause random, low throttle missfires in these aswell.
