The National Guard promotion situation is one that is so fucked up, I can't describe it. This past weekend's demo range was taught by me becuase I'm the only one out of 90 guys in my Company that has done demolition in combat. So I had to volunteer with Vermont to get a slot for Afghanistan. National Guard becomes Federal Army once activated for a deployment.
