V8 Beast
WINMO 4 LIFE. Give me one to evaluate. Might have to meet up at S&S one of these nights. I was windows mobile for life until mid last week. HTC TP 2> All just turned into HTC TP 2 > all except the motorola... Actually its about a tie. The functionality of the motorola is kind of lost in it being huge and heavy. Its about a tie because of the phsyical design.

Mr. Jones
I still say there are far more options for customization and strange apps for WinMo than Android at this juncture. In a year or two, maybe not.

In a year or two, maybe not. Doesnt get more customizable than open source... Since you are a winmo queer you should be familiar with xda-developers forum. Go check out the HTC Dream developers sections. Or if you really want to check it out, download and install the android sdk.

Flash MLIGN's 2.8 Hero rom, or get the Missed Call app in the market.
cinergi
That sucks. I didnt know its only been out for like a week. I ran 1.6 about a month ago, which is the other advantage of being rooted. You get to run roms way before they are released. Where are you getting the rom updates from? I want to try Hero, what source is best? Also does anyone have any updates for the Sprint Nav ap? The one I have installed keeps telling mme I need to contact Sprint. I loved that ap for Nav and hadn't found anything nearly as good.

I tried using Sprint Nav two nights ago and it told me my account expired...so i'm guessing sprint caught on to it. If you know someone with a sprint android phone, you might be able to put in their number and it may work. This is where I look for ROMs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=448 The best Hero rom i've had is MLIGN's V2.5.7. He has a new, V3.1.1 that's based off of 2.5.7, I havent had a chance to flash it yet and try it out, but I didnt have luck with V2.8 and V3.0, they would get really slow after a while and eventually crash my phone. I might just stick to v2.5.7 until HTC releases their android 2.0 Hero rom. I looked in the past and never went to the extreme to find it. It's all the same, you just need to downgrade back to RC29. This is what I followed when I did Jeff's phone. http://androidforums.com/t-mobile-g1/12637-root-guide-stock-2-cyanogen-update-rom.html

RangerTurbo
I finally picked up the HTC Droid Eris. Freaking love it. So far, my only complaint is internet and/or GPS is a battery killer. Other than that it's fantastic.
cinergi
I have found http://www.unlockr.com/forum to be the most helpful website out there to do rooting if you want to run any ROM which requires a radio or hardSPL upgrade. They have some great videos, too. When I get the chance I will be changing over from Cyanogen to Hero. Their one click rooting is different from all the other ones out there and they REALLY simplify the process.
