DTM Brian
Hate to sound like an ass here. Maybe some of our manufacturing jobs will come back to the states after China crumbles. Its really sad how a few greedy individuals will put their workers in such an unhealthy work environment and pay them pennies a day. Maybe we are not so corrupt here after all. Tractor
that is awful. i hope the united states doesnt turn into that some day. im sure we have our spots that are pretty polluted, but not this bad! Actually a lot of the area around the US was pretty bad until the middle of the last century. Check out the mine land reclamation act for information about what the mines did to southeastern OH. Funny that some people think turning the US communist would be a good thing. China is killing its people and land for the "mother land." boosted98gst
Wow very depressing, so crazy how just 50 years ago we did the same thing dumping shit in the ocean and not filtering pollutant from factory's ect. It just seems like they have so many people over there that they do not care about anyone. One person dies or gets cancer, fuck him because there are a million strong 17 year old's that are so poor that will do anything for work. So sad. unfunnyryan
THIS is why stuff from china is so cheap, and why businesses move their shit there. You can do whatever you want, and pay whatever you want. I wonder what their life expectancy is though with however much shit is in their air. zeitgeist57
Agreed: This is why Chinese manufacturing is so cheap. They may crank out decent and safe products now, but at a HUGE cost from an environmental/health standpoint.\ The U.S. is no longer a viable mass-manufacturing economy, but China cannot sustain itself economically by doing more of this in the future. But when the US.gov gives tax breaks to companies trying to save a buck on labor, we're in the wrong. There is nothing that can't be blamed on pure 100% greed in business practices now a days. But you can see the great communist society truly helping it's people here too

ImUrOBGYN
Actually a lot of the area around the US was pretty bad until the middle of the last century. Check out the mine land reclamation act for information about what the mines did to southeastern OH. Funny that some people think turning the US communist would be a good thing. China is killing its people and land for the "mother land." China isn't a example of true communism. However, no matter what country you look to, whatever "system" they supposedly live by, is almost never a true representation of that "system". Socialism, communism, capitalism, etc is all great in theory. They all 'work'. If we were robots. But like all things we touch with our greedy, grubby little hands, we corrupt, destroy and taint it. Twist it for our gains at the loss of our own people's. The world is full of fuck twats. FUCK! Looking at those pics make me so fuckin angry. No country is perfect and we all pollute, but that's not even fuckin effort. They maybe on the other side of the world but they arestill sharing this fuckin planet with the rest of us. This should NOT be allowed by any fuckin country!
ImUrOBGYN
And dammit, one more fuckin thing. If you are company that does business in the US, how can you be allowed to do your business utilizing a country's factories, etc with a complete disregard to evironment and safety and that breaks every fuckin law in the US for similar factories, etc? You shouldn't be allowed to fuckin do that!!! And don't give me some fuckn bullshit about "Gubberment can't diddle with coporations, etc!" Well, if you didn't know it before, you know now through recent history that's a load of fuckin shit.. floating down the Yangtze River. /rant I think. GonneVille
Now look at this and think about worldwide environmental treaties. The West is shouldering the burden for China, India, and Russia, with China being the worst offender(Russia still isn't that far behind. Those crazy fuckers dug a canal using nuclear weapons...). The Chinese draw in industries with cheap labor and zero environmental laws. Then pressure the USA to reduce emissions and protest any new restrictions on themselves because they are still a "developing industrial country". So the USA goes to negotiate new environmental treaties and gets pressured into accepting new, ridiculous restrictions to get China, Russia, and India to accept even the smallest restrictions on their own industry. So, manufacturing anything in the USA gets even more expensive relative to doing it in China, which pushes more US businesses to move production to China, where they can spew smoke, soot, and poison into the air and water. This widens the trade deficit, which means the US has to borrow money from the Chinese, to buy Chinese products, which Americans invented and developed and the Chinese pirate with impunity, which also, of course costs the USA money... Yeah, it's all pretty circular, isn't it? Thank god China is fucking themselves with their population controls and backwards-assed paternally-based customs...The population crash brought on by killing all their female babies is already starting. Let's hope they don't wise up too early.

Let's hope they don't wise up too early. It's too bad. It's such a large, beautiful chunk of the Earth where they are just now being allowed in small numbers to really explore. They're discovering huge numbers of various undiscovered species (and not just the boring stuff ) but it's all being destroyed at such an accelerated rate. I don't understand how people can treat each other and the animals around them so badly. I couldn't live with myself running a country or anything else, for that matter, that way. Not caring for my people and everything in it. It's boggling.

Sparky
If you wondered why the air pollution for the Olympics was so low, it was because they shut down the rest of the city basically. The air in Beijing when I was there December of 07 was brown, all day.
