Mike Ward Racing
As promised, I wanted to share another project/engine that I built with you. We actually built this engine (BBC 615 cu.in.) a few years back, and have since sold it. It was originally built for my personal Top Sportmans car when I ran IHRA T/S and the Jegs Super Quick series. It had 1.01 sec.at the sixty and low 4.50's in the 1/8 mile. However, I sold it before i made a complete 1/4 pass. It shook the the tires or spun before I could get a clean pass. However, it was capable of 6.80-6.70's seconds in the 1/4 mile. I sold it to a guy in MD that went 7.50's in the 1/4 on motor only (no spray). Needless to say he was very happy with it's performance. It made over 1100hp and 1000ft/lbs on motor on an engine dyno(motor only). It also had 2 NOS fogger systems on it.(didn't spray it on the dyno) I sprayed it with 250hp on the 1st system and another 350hp on the second system at the track. http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb192/mxward1/tsengine5.jpg http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb192/mxward1/tsengine4.jpg http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb192/mxward1/tsengine3.jpg http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb192/mxward1/TSengine2.jpg http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb192/mxward1/TSengine.jpg

If you've seen the cars in the Jegs distr. center in delaware, then that how my car was built. The only real difference is that the newer cutlass's had a little different ground effects package and headlights.

Guest tbutera2112
Forgive my ignorance, but what on an engine forces it to cost that much? ive seen engines online selling for almost 100 grand http://www.sonnysracingengines.com/engines/mammoth-pro-mod-903-cu-in-2450-hp-racing-engine
Mike Ward Racing
Forgive my ignorance, but what on an engine forces it to cost that much? Not a problem. Everything in the engine is a one of a kind piece. Nothing is off the shelf when you get to this level. Over $12,000 for the heads, $3800 for the intake, $3000+ Billet crank, custom pistons, custom rods, rod bolts, coated everything, $1100 oil pan, $4 or $5,000 in the fuel system and bird cather, $1000 or more in the vacuum pump system, 2, 500 hp fogger systems. Tand D shaft rockers w/ .250" offset, huge Manton chrome moly push rods, three different custom lengths w/clearance tips, offset lifters. etc. etc. etc. These are just some of the prices that I vaguely remember, my math may be slightly off, but should give you an idea of how it adds up. There is a lot more, but this gives you an idea. Edited October 27, 2009 by Mike Ward Racing spelling
