Kia Forte

Am I the only one who thinks that this would be one sweet little daily driver? I've never been a fan of foreign cars (especially a Kia), but I'm really impressed by the looks of this thing. If I ever decide to get another project car, and I if I'd ever decide to get rid of the Colorado, I would seriously consider getting one of these.

Thoughts?

hyundai/kia is really moving up the ranks. ive owned 3, and wouldnt hesitate to buy another. the elantra hatch/i30 has been out for a short time and people have done some things to make it look pretty sick...almost to the point i want to do something similar.

hey dumby...most of them are made by kia.....

Since I don't really care about Kia/Hyundai I would not know that? The newer Kia's labeled as such, that I have had the pleasure of working on have sucked, (driving/feel/interior wise) The Hyundai's, labeled as such have not, regardless of who makes what maybe Kia should worry more about their own stuff then??? Instead of improving rivals??

I have nothing against Kia. Would I drive one? No.

Would I say the forte is a good choices for a inexpensive daily driver, with exceptional features, and very cheap to maintain? Probably. Check out this part of a review I found:

We spent the bulk of our drive time in the top level Kia Forte SX, which is powered by a 2.4L, 173 hp four banger mated to the optional five-speed automatic transmission (a six-speed manual is standard in the SX, but we only had a chance to try the five-speed auto). Kia says 0-60 times are in the mid 7-second range for the SX.

I think we all have to admit, 7 sec 0-60 is fine for a daily driver. Most reviews online say this is the car they are trying to change their image with, so I say try it out.

the forte looks like a complete rip off of a civic to. Personally i think along with the front end, alot of the body lines are very close to the same also. Im not a fan of either car, but if i had to choose id take the civic all the way. the civic si has more power than the forte sx, probly gets about the same gas mileage, and honda has a reputation for building reliable cars.

I saw the commercial for it 2 nights ago for the first time and thought it looked pretty good.

But its clearly a rip-off of the US civic, and I can even see a little euro civic in there too.

I wouldn't have a problem daily driving a Hyundai/Kia. I daily drive an 03 Elantra GT Hatchback. It currently has 87K on it has only been in to the dealer for work once.

It isn't anything flashy, but it is dependable and gets me to work every day. Of course this year, when the snow starts flying, the Jeep comes out to play.

Our van is awesome and is plugging right along. We had a Honda Oddy, and there's no way there's a $9,600 difference in value between the two. Our Van had 4k miles on it, was 4 months old and sold for $19k with a 100k warranty. best bang for the buck on a van that new that I found. I'm really happy with it....but then I don't have to drive a van :p
