Sully
I have a computer at work that I'm not able to logon to when it's booted up with the network cable attached. If I unplug the network cable, boot up the pc, I can log in. These are the two messages that I get when I try to login: The system cannot log you on due to the following error: Invalid access to memory location and The system could not log you on. The server authenticating you reported an error (0xC00000BB). What the heck is causing this? How do I fix it? Last resort is to reload XP, but a user has a lot of stuff on here that I can't lose. Rally Pat
This may be a dumb question, but is it a pirated version of XP?
evan9381
what if you logged in the way you can, save whatever is needed to like an external HD, then reload?
thorne
it sounds like a machine that was once part of a domain.
Sully
It is a legit copy of XP. This computer has been used by the same person for a couple years now. It is/was on the Domain. I tried removing it from the Domain and re-adding it, but that didn't resolve the issue.
dakotart
Can another account log on? what about the local administrator account?
Sully
All cached accounts can log in if I boot up the computer without the network cable attached. None of the accounts can log in if I boot up the computer with the network cable attached. I discovered it was a virus. The computer has been reloaded. Thanks.
