Fubar231
Was the head and block decked flat for the MHG? If not it could have sealing problems.
boosted98gst
What kind of manifold is that? I had a similar built manifold that had the twin scroll type divided wastegate runners into a 50MM hks wastegate. My wastegate and a spring was 14.7 and I could never get the damn thing to set steady. Running a single wastegate for a twinscroll divided type turbo is asking for boostcreep issues, I found out the hard way and 2100 bucks +200 to mod the manifold I now am happy with it. I am now running twin 44mm divided from each other and its been rock steady. I am in no way saying this will happen with you, but if anything of that nature does happen, look at the wastegate placement, and runners. The engine looks like its coming together nice! good luck
BIGGU
Looking good buddy  is that a Gates kevlar timing belt? Thanks, It is a gates racing best bang for the buck imo Was the head and block decked flat for the MHG? If not it could have sealing problems. head was machined flat but the bottom end was not. bottom end was pretty flat and didnt see it necessary at this point since its still a stock bottom end. If i do have sealing issues then i will be getting a new bottom end plus getting it built. What kind of manifold is that? Twistedrx7
+1 on twin wastegates, i know in the rx7 world, it can haunt you with boost creep if you are running a single larger wastegate instead of twin.
boosted98gst
+1 on twin wastegates, i know in the rx7 world, it can haunt you with boost creep if you are running a single larger wastegate instead of twin. Im pretty sure its just with basic design with turbocharged cars. 2 twin wastegates are much much better then one single with that type of set up. I was lucky that I did not scatter my motor across the road. Anything over a gt30 twin scroll type with one wastegate is fucking hell with creep issues, even worse when twin dividing sides meet into 1 wastegate runner or wastegate. Since hes a drifter and is banging off the high rpm end alot, hes going to need something better then a single set up.
Fubar231
Just looked over the pics again, is that a crease/bend in the MHG near cylinder 1 and the front of the block? If so id just return that MHG and get a new one, when i ordered the one HKS one for my supra it came with a rivet/crease imperfection near the edge, and returned it for a perfect one. Just be better to get it correct now than to have sealing issues later due to the HG from the start.
BIGGU
yea looking at the pictures it looks bent but its all in good shape its just the way it was sitting in the pictures. before i put the head on it was all flat.

Sard fuel rail came in, Turbo came in, AFPR is on its way and the oil cooler is on its way too! getting so close! today im getting the hot side off the turbo and dropping it off for ceramic coating. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/oilcooler.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0468.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0467.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0466.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0465.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0464.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0463.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0462.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0461.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0460.jpg
BIGGU
So some bad luck, my fuel rail is not the correct one for my motor. it will fit jzx100 1jz, jzx110 1jz, and jzz30 VVTI 1jz.so gay. none of the mouning points come close or even the correct angle. turns out SARD doesn't even offer a fuel rail for my 1jz. not sure why the mounting on the chaser and mark II are different then mine but its no where close. in other news ive been buying a bunch of stuff. im removing the stock OEM oil cooler in favor of an aftermarket. I purchased a Earls oil cooler with -10 AN fittings, earls block adapter with -10 and and a earls billet remote filter mount with -10 AN fittings. because of the theme of SS lines i decided to ditch my power steering cooler that I getto rigged last year and im doing all my power steering lines in AN also. i ordered a new power steering reservoir with -10an outlet and -6an inlet along with a SETRAB oil cooler with currently -4an fittings but i will change those to -6an. http://i.ebayimg.com/06/%21BuT25gwEGk~$%28KGrHqJ,%21h%21Ev1+0DUPZBL+vFs2E4%21~~_12.JPG http://i.ebayimg.com/05/!BuImK0!BWk~$(KGrHqEOKjEEvUZVjmsdBL+C1coWQQ~~_12.JPG http://www.jegs.com/images/photos/300/361/361-1178.jpg http://www.jegs.com/images/photos/300/361/361-2178.jpg ohh yea i did this too! http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0471.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0470.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0469.jpg I feel like theres something else i ordered to i just cant remember it. BIGGU
Nice, where did you get that power steering piece? had to get the -10an bung welded to it. as far as im able to tell no one is making a kit to do this. Only reason im converting is its going to make it easier to do the powersteering cooler and what not.

I know on the 2jz's they have been tested to like 50psi with no leaks, and it makes tuning alot easier.
BIGGU
just to make it cleaner really, im on standalone so it shouldn't be much of an issue. thanks to P&P performance my turbo hotside is now ceramic coated. was supposed to be aluminum/chrome color but black was my second choice. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0488.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0487.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0486.jpg

BIGGU
alright im tired of this car sitting around so im starting to get moving again. over the last few days ive ordered a few things and changing the plan yet again. In order to get the car going and driving ill just get a capable single disk clutch and buy the twin disk later. I am going to run E85 in the car now. so Ive ordered all my fittings for the turbo, got a oil feed line for the turbo, water lines all figured out, im going to go to get a -6 fitting to tap into the water neck for water, I ordered a soarer shifter extension, Im also going to remove the GE oil filter perch i installed and thread the filter adapter directly to the block. Im also thinking about getting the intake manifold ceramic coated to help with heat but im not quite sure. I should be ordering a clutch this week and possibly fuel rail and injectors. I think the injectors will be 1100cc or 1600cc not quite sure yet.

BIGGU
After some research it looks like there's no hope to finishing the car this year, At my power level + the aggressive turbo ill have to do a twin disk clutch. so its off to research... OS Giken or Spec. hard choice because I hated my spec....
BIGGU
heres some update pictures. I got everything i needed to convert my Supra R154 to a soarer style using toyota OEM parts, figured out my oil feed, Got all my fittings for my turbo, figured out my oil drain line, got my water neck oem water feeds welded shut, tapped and fitted a water feed for the turbo on the water neck and probably a few other things. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0500.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0502.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0503.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0506.jpg Im going to be removing the OEM oil filter perch and mount directly to the block. This shot is just to show the oil feed from the oil lines. I am going to need to buy a bunch of fire shielding for all my water/ oil lines. bah. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0513.jpg
BIGGU
did a little work on the car this weekend but it was mainly cleaning, tapped the waterneck and put the fittings in place. washed the car down to get the dust off, cleaned the engine bay. removed all water heater lines, tested the brakes, ran a power cable to the trunk, put the wiring harness in the driver fender away from the tire and tried to degree the cam but failed again. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0530.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0531.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0532.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0533.jpg heres the cams at TDC, to me it just doesent look right it seems the intake and exhaust would be closed completely. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0534.jpg everything is zero'd out. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0535.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0536.jpg
Guest 614Streets
The cams probably have advance built into them? How do you degree DOHC motors?
