Guest 614Streets
use a micrometer along with the adjustable cam gears to set the degree in AFAIK maby im just not doing it right? I would think you could use the intake centerline method if your cam manufacturer gave you a centerline to install it too but then again I dont know how you get the micrometer to read valve movement and max lift on a ohc motor. BIGGU
well i ended up looking at an old picture of where the cams were at TDC and it seems to be right. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0534.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/cam/IMG_2973.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/cam/IMG_2974.jpg

BIGGU
aight so no real updates as I haven't done much to the car. Ive just removed some lines and now starting to figure out the fuel system. plan is to keep stock hardlines run into a -6 an y to a dual feed rail. Issue at hand is that the fitting on the hardline there is no one to make an adapter. now im sure i could go spend the money at driftmotion and get a already done pice but i dont want a SS line, I want the black nylon braded shit. So plan was to just get -6 an tube ends and adapters, reflare the pipe and be done. Now the issue is the stock hardline is not 3/8 nor is it 5/16. its some where in between. FML right? New plan is that i just dropped off the stock hardline along with the other "fuel dampener line" to my machine shop. I am having made an adapter that will screw into the stock hard line and convert to a -6 AN. If anyone else wants one just let me know i can have more made. Also i purchased a whole bunch of fire sleeve a few days ago. Im sure theres more i did but thats the most prevailing. i should be ordering the clutch kit in the next few days but time will tell. BIGGU
So ive been just doing a few little things on the engine while im waiting on some things. I made my oil drain and both my coolant lines for the turbo along with heat wrapping them all. Ive designed the fuel system for the car as well. I have about 20 foot of PTFE stainless braided fuel hose for the fuel lines from the tank. and i also got bulk head fittings. I just ordered my fuel rail and injectors today, and should be ordering my clutch today as well. Clutch will be the waiting game as its a 3-4 week lead time on it. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0540.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0538.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0537.jpg
BIGGU
fuel rail, injectors, and fuel line all got here yesterday. I was expecting dual feeds on the fuel rail but oh well, easier on me to run the bulkheads and what not. This weekend I plan on degreeing the cams, installing the bulkhead in the fuel lid, running the fuel lines and the other random items that I can do. Now its just a waiting game for the clutch to get here. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0546.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0547.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0548.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0549.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0550.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0551.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0552.jpg
Vlad
Nice, you would assume it would be dual feed just like my 2jz fuel injector clinic rail, guess not.
BIGGU
so a little bit of work on the car this weekend. I went to jegs and got my fuel filter alcohol compatible so im good with e85, ran the line from the tank to the front, cleaned up some random shit. Most of the time this weekend went into working on the truck and getting it better again. I also ordered more PTFE braided fuel line for my fuel return in -6. I also ordered a 50mm Synapse engineering wastegate so that should be here shortly. I have everything i need to install my engine except the clutch, That should be here in another 2 weeks or so. Oh also forgot but i degreed the cams this weekend too. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0553.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0554.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0555.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0556.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0557.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0558.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0559.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0560.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0561.jpg

BIGGU
so i got some more parts finally and i also got tired of the car leaking power steering(ATF fluid) all over the damn place so I finished up the whole system along with the cooler in place. All in all i think it turned out pretty nice but it was more expensive than i was wanting it to be but oh well. Also my Mishimoto radiator came in and I gotta deal with that now because its a little shorter than I expected it to be and it doesn't sit properly in the stock holders. bottom its fine but its too short for the top ones. On top of all that my radiator upper pipe is now too long and i guess ill need to cut that down a tad but no big deal. Also my HKS DLI type 2 came in so looks like im going to be wiring that in soon. On top of that, fenders, bumper and all the body parts are on the car minus the hood. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0575.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0576.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0579.jpg

Fuel feed line is finished, Fuel return is finished, AFPR mounted, DLI mounted and wiring ran just needs soldered, remote oil filter mount is mounted, oil cooler mounted, oil lines all ran and im sure there was more. heres some quick pictures with the iphone, ill get better ones later. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/3e0b82a5.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/4d8a6351.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/58daea12.jpg Oh also im going to get a billet tensioner bracket made for my car, Titan wants $350 for theirs but i can get it made for half the cost still using 4040 billet steel. BIGGU
heres updated pictures. Dash is removed and im removing the AC and heater core. its the huge white thing behind the dash. Just gotta figure out how to remove it. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0586.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0587.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0588.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0589.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0591.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0592.jpg

BIGGU
I got the heater/ac core removed saturday and got the dash put back in. that's about all I did. I need to figure out a way to plug up the holes were the heater core and the Ac lines passed through the firewall. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0596.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0597.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0598.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0599.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0600.jpg
BIGGU
look what finally showed up... Like i figured it will need some modifications but I figured as much so im not worried. My biggest worry is the flange of the turbo has a large lip and the downpipe opening is too small for it to fit over that. I need to make the downpipe about half inch taller due to my engine being a 1.5jz and not a standard 1jz. Im also going to be adding a 4" flex section onto it. Once all thats done Ill be getting it ceramic coated just like the hot side. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0606.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0607.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0608.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0609.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0610.jpg
BIGGU
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0640.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b107/2zumeunos/SC300/winter%2009/DSC_0641.jpg theres the block off plates, nothing really special there. I got back into the car and starting figuring out the mid mount, looks like im going to be moving the radiator back a good 2 inches or so and the intercooler will be right on it. Crossle
Don't you think you may regret pulling the HVAC stuff out? I mean, a lot of race cars still retain a blower for the front windshield for if it fogs over. Just sayin', I am curious to hear your reasoning for removing it other than weight reduction? Car looks great as usual, keep up the good work!
