Don't you think you may regret pulling the HVAC stuff out? I mean, a lot of race cars still retain a blower for the front windshield for if it fogs over. Just sayin', I am curious to hear your reasoning for removing it other than weight reduction?

Car looks great as usual, keep up the good work!

weight reduction mainly, Lexus puts the blower in a way that you cannot seperate it from the heater core and run just that only. I needed the space behind the dash and I probably wont ever drive the car on the street again. There might be a select few times but it will probably be on day I wont need to worry about the windows fogging up.

got the mid mount done today well the stuff I could do myself, Ill be bringing the intercooler and turbo outlet to my buddy to get 90 degree pipes welded onto them.

Started on the fuel pump wiring and then I got kinda tired. Pics can speak for them self.

theres going to be some big fans behind the radiator that pull major CFM into the bay. I havent done it yet but all of that area is going to be ducted to make a giant wind tunnel out of it. I'm sure there are going to be some down falls to this mount but being a 4" core

for me the benefits of having extremely short piping and the inter cooler behind the structure of the car I hope will make up for the rest of the downfalls.

like I said though the plan will to have it all completely ducted in a way that will create a wind tunnel with the fans.

Looking great! Never drive it on the street again? Will the lights work, and are you going to license/register it?

Its going to have working lights and what not and even though its been down for over a year and a half its still plated and insured and will stay that way.

Its going to be road worthy but Im pretty sure the gas mileage is going to be not fun and ive been thinking of removing the OE radio. I may put an aftermarket in there but Im still undecided. Plus once I get the cage in the car its going to be fun to get in and out.

a little bit of progress. It turns out my plan for fuel is not going to work as planned because of the y'S are to large and will be in the way so what im going to do is take a -8 junction and get it welded into the bottom of the tank where the OEM one was at. should allow for a much cleaner setup I think.

few more pics, Intercooler setup is finished with the new end tanks welded on.

So people keep bitching at me to get this done and im just flat out lazy now from working on everyone elses car now. with that said though I have made some progress, I finished all the lines for the fuel tank, bolted the tank back into place and as well finished wiring the fuel pumps in. I also mounted the battery box down into place.

I found out I will need to lower the radiator down because It doesent look like the cap will fit with the hood down. Thats not much of an issue, just more custom shit ill need to do.

I need to get a ANL or ANF fuse holder, Any one know the best place to get a good quality one with 150a fuse link? best buy looks like they carry them but i have no idea where else to go to get them

excuse the shitty pictures, all i had was my phone.

I dont think I have any pictures of this but I had a 90 degree fitting welded to the turbo outlet so all I need to do is run the intercooler piping.

Does anyone know where I can get a 5 ply silicone coupling that 15 degree bend or so? I might just need to get some inter cooler piping bent to the correct shape to get it to work correctly

so things to do to get this car to fire up will be to finish the wiring to the battery including fuse links, finish the fuse links for the power to the relays to the fuel pump, finish the grounds to the relay, finish modifying the downpipe and exhaust to fit up, make intercooler piping, buy a BOV, finish vacuum lines to bov/ wastegate and it should be ready to go.

Scott, the hose in the tank is Gates Submersible Fuel hose, Not much better hose you can run other than that, The SS braided hose is Teflon braided so it can stand up to the fuel. The worm clamps well see how they hold up, the submerged side is fuel rated non worm clamp just like factory. This tank will probably only be in the car a year or so before it switched out to a fuel cell.

As a an update, The car finally has power! I hooked up the battery yesterday and was able to move the steering wheel down so I can get the dash hooked up and I was able to roll down the windows on both side so I can get in with out opening the doors.

More news, I dropped off the downpipe to moorespeed to have the Vband flange changed to the correct one and have it extended by 2 inches that way it will fit correctly. Once thats done I will have it ceramic coated to go on the car for good. I ordered a Tial 50mm BOV yesterday and I will be needing to get a dump tube either made up or order one.

Once the downpipe gets ordered and put on the car, I just need to add some coolant and I should be ready to fire it up. The main thing that may need done is to lower the radiator down to make sure the hood closes.

Its getting close and im getting more excited about it.

ebay for now, once it cracks ill get a custom one made.

i know im chiming in a little late but a good friend of mine is making 930hp out of an ebay manifold on his fully built 2jz. he only had to modify the wastegate tubes when he reached about 600 horse only because they didnt flow enough

So as of yesterday the car has 3 gallons of e76, 6 quarts of oil, brand new spark plugs at the correct gap, all fuel lines tightened, all oil lines tightened and what not. Got the downpipe back yesterday from being mocked up and its going back for final welding. I tried to prime the fuel system last night however the power to the pump didn't kick on but I have all the wires behind the dash out and im pretty sure they are unplugged so the ECU wasn't getting any power. Plan for this weekend is to put the dash back and all the wires plugged back and and pending getting the downpipes back hopefully trying to start it.

SOON!!!

So this weekend I got the radiator pipe modified, cold side inter cooler piping done (needs welded), coolant added, turbo mounted fuel system primed the dash and all that back in.

I did try and start the car and the starter just makes a click and that's about it. Might be a power issue im not sure i didn't get to look into it. I kept trying and if i hold the key I ended up popping my ANL fuse so i need to go find another one.

I did order a ATI super dampened pully today and I also ordered a air filter and a few other toys for the sc. It should be ready to fire any time soon now!

Welp the engine spins free now! of course the ARP flywheel bolts were just to long and they pressed into the main cap and 2 happened to hit right underneath causing the engine to be seized. Getting them machined down a bit and ill get it put together. Got the cold side inter cooler piping back from the welder and fit it up perfectly. Now im just mocking up where the BOV goes and the IAT sensor then ill get those welded on. Got the hot side piping mocked up and ill be dropping it off at the fabricators to get welded so my have all my piping finished. I think all said and done my inter cooler piping is about 3-4 foot long. pretty awesome if you ask me! downpipe is back as well. So today after work ill be picking up my new billet tensioner bracket for the timing belt since the oem one is known to crack with large cams and ill have that buttoned up along with having everything back on.

All the wiring for the sensors and what not are in the car now, I just need to run some power wires to the back battery to provide the gauges and what not with power and we will be good to go. more pictures to come soon.

Well go the billet timing belt tensioner bracket ive been waiting for on the car and other misc items back intercooler piping is back as well. I got the ATI dampened pully on the car and found out the serpentine belt I have is a bit on the short side. Ive got all the gauges wired up which is what I wanted to do before I started the car and primed the car and then fired it up. The engine runs pretty well, just didnt get to run it very long with out a serpentine belt. Ill get one and get it fired up with a video as well next time.

finally a picture update as well:

PS the billet bracket isnt finished in the picture.
