Evolved8
i was just wondering who all keeps their gun cocked while carrying it? im kind of split on this, i know the guns have safeties but in the back of my mind i feel a bit on easy about it. (btw i carry an xd45) Whats the point of carrying it if its not loaded? you wont have time to do that in a panic situation, Better stick with a pocket knife if thats the case. TTQ B4U
I don't carry very often, but when I do it's ready to roll but I do keep the safety on. In the house in the safe, same deal. Ready to serve and protect. I'll have it no other way.
TurboNova
one is in the chamber
evan9381
i can do it with my 1911. not ideal, but in a pinch it could work. IIRC they make rear sights that are made for catching on a boot or belt or something. just do it like this guy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8475ocNvzw&feature=player_embedded slow motion
Putty
Ready at all times....no time to pull and cock if I need it. 1911 cocked and locked looks more dangerous to me....simply due to hammer back, but I know it's pretty much the same. copperhead
just do it like this guy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8475ocNvzw&feature=player_embedded slow motion WTF, did that guy seriously just jerk the gun back?
evan9381
yeah...my buddy showed this to me a month or so ago...claims that it can be done with any gun...tried it with my M&P 9c, not thinking it would work, and i was right from what i remember seeing online, it was a g35 (i think) and with the long slide and the amount of mass (as opposed to a smaller compact model), it makes it easier with the momentum going back. thats why i had to find the slo-mo version. pretty bad ass
copperhead
That thing would have to have a real weak spring. I just tried that with my 1911 and could barely get the slide to come out of lock, without a mag in it.

copperhead
I don't know that anyone that competes enough to be able to start a match like that would ever have a stock gun, although I was surprised that that it didn't look like the gun had any kind of an extended magwell. RedRocket1647545505
just do it like this guy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8475ocNvzw&feature=player_embedded slow motion Those are the vids I was trying to find. That guy is legit. IIRC, he's a Master or GrandMaster class shooter; those folks can do impossible shit with guns. They're crazy good. It's also been verified by several other USPSA/ISPC shooters. He can do it with pretty much any gun, no weak springs or any BS like that. On that note, I've tried it with my G23........and I fail. Budges maybe .25". flippy1974
Condition 2 - A round is in the chamber and the hammer is down
RyM3rC
Hammer down on a 1911 + dropping a 1911 can actually activate the firing pin and cause the weapon to fire. That's why there is the half-cock hammer position. Many guns have this (including my usp45) which lets the hammer sit just off the firing pin assy so that "dropping" it on the hammer can not allow a chambered round to fire. You'd be crazy to NOT carry a SA pistol cocked. Seriously people. If I can I carry cocked with safety on (as should you), on my other da/sa carry weapons it's hammer down. John Bruh
that took twice as long as it should of. mine is always loaded with safety on.
twistedfocus1647545489
Mine is always chambered, safety off & ready to fire. It has no safety actually, though it's striker fired like a Glock so I'm not worried about dropping it and shooting a hole in my sack. bahd-ler
I do not yet have a holster for my LCP, so when I carry it in a "pocket" or whatever its in, I do not have a chambered round, just don't feel safe enough. If the firearm is holstered and secure it should always be ready to go.
More toys than you
cant go wrong with the safety systems on kimbers im a cond 2 carry
RC K9
I carry a Glock 23 .40 cal everyday, everywhere I can and yes, I ALWAYS have one in the chamber. There is no point in carrying a firearm if it is not ready to rock n' roll when you need it too.
RedRocket1647545505
cant go wrong with keeping your finger off the trigger until you're ready to fire. fixxed for the noob.
