Erica
I am up for upgrade soon and am trying to deside what kind of phone I want. I really like the HTC touch pro2 and the motorola driod. Which phone is better? Any sugresstions would be great! I DO NOT want another blackberry!
unfunnyryan
Droid is FAR better than the touch pro 2. However, if you dont 100% need a physical keyboard, the Nexus One comes to verizon (which I assume you are on, looking at droid) in the spring, along with a few more cool phones. unfunnyryan
I also hear that the battery life on the droid is really low... Only if you run brightness 100%, wifi, gps, bluetooth, syncing 5x email accounts, and 30 background apps running all day. Otherwise, its pretty good. One site did a review specifically on the battery life of the Droid. For the study, the Droid screen brightness was maxed out, the screen was set to 'Never Sleep', MP3's were loaded and the media player was turned on to 'Repeat All Songs'. They even threw in an hour of Google Navigation usage while all of that was going on and still managed over 7 hours of battery life. Let's see your old flip-phone do that. PS: If you get one new from the store, it will be a week or so before the battery life stables out. This is true for a lot of phones though. AWW$HEEET
I also hear that the battery life on the droid is really low... Ryan's is only low because he uses it as a phone and a vibrator
smokin5s
I also hear that the battery life on the droid is really low... I got the home dock for it and my Droid runs all day no problem... when I go to bed, I dock it and it acts as my alarm clock all night... (I have brightness turned all the way up, and all bells and whistles on) so as long as you charge it every night, you'll never have a battery life issue. Erica
so is the HTC or the Motorola better?
CRed05
HTC is a lot better. Only thing that would want you to get the Motorola over the HTC is the fact that it has a hardware keyboard and the HTC has a soft keyboard. Nexus * 5MP camera with LED flash * Qualcomm QSD 8250 1GHz processor * Android 2.1 OS * 512MB RAM * 512MB Flash drive (built in) * 4GM Micro SD card * 3.7″ touchscreen display * Weight: 130g with battery * Talk time: up to 7 hours on 3G/10 hours on 2G * Web use: up to 6.5 hours on Wi-Fi * Price: $179 with T-Mobile(coming to verizon) or $529 without contract Motorola Droid * 5MP camera with LED flash * Android 2.0 OS * QWERTY keyboard and touchscreen * 600 MHz ARM Cortex A8 Processor * 256 MB RAM / 512 MB ROM * microSD/microSDHC * 3.7-inch screen touchscreen * Weight: 169g with battery * Talk Time: 6.4 hours on 3G * Web use: up to 6 hours on Wi-Fi * Price: $199 on Verizon or $599 without contract
smokin5s
droid comes with a 16gb microSD from the factory.... and can be overclocked... although I haven't really seen a need to overclock mine... it runs fine how it is.
87GT
If you want a new phone right now get a droid. If you can wait for the nexus do it. Either way both are a good choice.
