Fine with me, cops should be able to be on the same level as the people shooting at them. I am in school to work as a Park Officer and we have shotguns and Ar-15's. I've seen a few videos where an armored tank, or different types of non lethal grenades would have came in handy. The budget thing comes to a little training and ammo pretty much.. a lot of agencies will just approve officers just using their own supplied rifles.
