RedRocket1647545505
My dad's present to me for passing the NCLEX-RN and walking right into a badass job. http://i48.tinypic.com/rkx56t.jpg Nothing is setup yet. I just finished bolting it to my freshly-made reloading bench. Dillon Precision XL650. ~1,200-1,500 rd./hr. http://i46.tinypic.com/33a3seu.jpg I'm currently 'fully' setup to reload .308,.223, and .45ACP. I've got a new toolhead and powder resevoir/throws, and powder-level alarm for each caliber. My dad also gave me his old Lee .40/10mm, .44spl/mag, and .38spl/.357mag dies, so I could reload those as well, if I wanted. But, they're old and rusty so I think I'm just going to replace them. http://i47.tinypic.com/2rxtjf8.jpg Toolheads, stands, powder resevoirs, alarms, and Terminator scale. http://i46.tinypic.com/aetfgl.jpg Tumbler and electronic case feeder. Dillon forgot to pack the clamps that hold the casefeeder on, so I'm still waiting on those to arrive. I've also got all 4 shellplates that Dillon makes for the feeder so I can run any caliber through it that I want. I'm researching bullet feeders and planning on fully automating the whole thing. All I'll need to do when I'm done setting it up is fill it with components, flick the 'ON' switch, and supervise it while drinking some beer. Talk about ultimate laziness. http://i45.tinypic.com/2lie7g8.jpg More to come...
RedRocket1647545505
.223 cases, misc. brass, tumbler media, 2lb. pistol powder, (500) 230gr. .45RN, media separator. Both I and my dad still have a crapload more brass all over the place. My plan is to start out with .45ACP because it’s an easy caliber to reload and it’ll give me a chance to get a feel for the press. http://i47.tinypic.com/xc2lia.jpg I’ve currently got 2 cans full of this stuff, and I’m pretty sure my dad’s got a few more cans stashed somewhere. http://i49.tinypic.com/1zgb69c.jpg I’ve also got more shit inbound from MidwayUSA.; a single stage press for precision rounds and test loads, case prep station, powder charge station, ammo cases out the wazu, manuals, case gauges, calipers, chronograph, and some other crap I’m sure I’m forgetting. I already need a bigger bench. This one was built with the intentions of it being temporary. Who else reloads on here? Let’s see some benches. I’m always looking for new ideas. :bangbang::bangbang::bangbang:

HotCarl
Congrats on passing your test. How much does a setup like that cost? It looks expensive. Are there any law's preventing you from reselling your reloads?
ohmr95b
Austin, nice setup. I run a XL650 also doing .45 and 5.56. You'll love the press, just don't forget to lube/grease it from time to time and don't forget to push forward to seat the primers. That is an awesome setup and should outlast you. Dillon's NO BS warranty is awesome, I bought my XL650 second hand and Dillon has replaced everything that was damaged on it for free. BTW, if you decide to dump the .38/.357 dies/conv, let me know, I have a Python and a SAA that are hungry
BloodRed
Very cool. I would love to learn how to re-load and get my own set up.
RyM3rC
That's a nice looking setup there. I could snap a pic of my bench, but since the brass prices tripled I haven't been reloading too much. You might want to finish that outlet before you get too much stuff in the way though
cinergi
Congrats man, good setup. I've got 2 very similar setups.

Are there any law's preventing you from reselling your reloads? Thanks. What you see on the table was ~$2,700. I've got another $1,200-1,500 worth of stuff to order from Midway, and the stuff to automate it will probably be another 1,200 or so. I'm sure I'll easily have over $5k in it by the time I'm done. And in order to manufacture ammo for commercial sale, I believe you'd have to have a Type 6 or 10 FFL license. That's not to say I won't help friends out when they want. :bangbang:

RedRocket1647545505
For anyone that's interested in reloading, pick up the book, 'The ABC's of reloading', and read it. It will explain everything.

RedRocket1647545505
First batch. http://smiliesftw.com/x/eek5r.gif Specs: -misc. brass -Federal 150 LPP -Berry's 230gr. TMJ bullets -Alliant Bullseye powder -My plan is to work up several different loads (50rd/batch) to see what my 1911 likes the best. For now, I'm sticking with 4.0, 4.2, 4.4, 4.6, and 4.8gr. loads. What you see here is the 4.0gr batch. Once I've loaded up my supply of Bullseye, I'll start experimenting with other types of powder. It'll take awhile, but it's fun, so I don't really have a problem with it. I still need to get a chronograph before shooting them, though. Anyways, I hope they don't squib or blow up: http://i47.tinypic.com/156y3nr.jpg
oldman09FZ6
A chronograph is the best investment a 'reloader' can make. You don't know what your handloads are doing until you know their fps. Too fast a powder will give pressure signs even though you're not at velocities you should be at. I've been using a Competition Electronics,Inc. 'ProChrono' for about 20 years now. I reload currently 9mm,38sp,357M,40s&w,10mm in handgun,17rem,223/5.56,30-06 in rifle.Past reloading in 44sp/44M,22-250,243win,6mmRem,25-06,35rem
