sol740
Fresh install was clean as could be. Running better, and with a smaller footprint than Vista. I will be switching my XP desktop to 7 eventually. It is a really good OS, and I have had 0 compatibility issues with XP software. Ubuntu FTW though. bicranium
You have obviously not used 7... I've used 7 and I agree with him. XP Pro for life!
BIGGU
is your PC hardware shit and out of date?
justinwebb
you will need a key unless its slipstreamed into that copy of windows. youll burn the image to a cd then load it like a normal copy of windows 7, but it wont prompt you for a key. yep the key is slip streamed in along with activation you dont have to do anything, works great i dual boot 7 and os x
Putty
yep the key is slip streamed in along with activation you dont have to do anything, works great i dual boot 7 and os x I like. when I burn is it bootyable?
Supplicium
yes it is bootable, just hit next when it asks for a serial. Also, dont set a password for any account at first durting the setup/install.
Miller
I have been stuck in my XP ways for some time. Just switched to Windows 7 on my business machine and I am loving the interface and the speed.
JaSSon
I just finished my fresh install also. Works great! ('bout the same as my Win 7 RC I suppose.)
JaSSon
I had 7 for about 2 months before getting rid of it. I dl'd a copy when it first came out but it wouldn't run all of my other programs like xp would. So i trashed it. Now i just dual boot xp and ubuntu Right click -> troubleshoot compatibility -> set to run as winXP. Fixes EVERYTHING.
bicranium
is your PC hardware shit and out of date? It might be. I bought it at Aldi. Or it might be a 2.66 GHz Core i7 w/6GB of DDR3 1600 RAM that I built myself. One of the two. I forget.
unfunnyryan
XP won't run my DX10 and DX11 games. Nor my WMC7. Win7>XP by FAR. And if you really need to run Win XP apps, try windows virtual pc. It is fast as fuck, but DOES require a processor with virtualizing tech. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/

Nitrousbird
be sure to avoid the new update KB971033 Why? I'm fully up to date, no issues.
twistedfocus1647545489
Why? I'm fully up to date, no issues. It detects activation cracks and fictitious keys, then annoys you about it not being a genuine copy. The same type of thing has been floating around for XP for years. As long as you always avoid it you should have no problems. Even if you did install it there may be ways of removing or disabling it. I know there was for the XP version. Nitrousbird
Must depend on how you crack it I guess. Link I posted seems like the best crack available.
