1qwk767
Newb to the bike world. Went to the pony last night to look at there used section of bikes. I want a 600 to start out on, I came across this R6 http://www.yamahaofcolumbus.com/pages/preownedvehicles/viewvehicledetail/29/31/1/1/24517/2004_yamaha_r6.aspx Thoughts on mileage/price I have no idea what to look for while looking at a bike so if you guy's could give me a few pointers on the two wheel world I would be greatly appreciated Thanks, Mark
ICEMAN1647545504
$5K is about the high end for an 04 model... They can range between $4-$5K for a clean one... You should be able to find one cheaper...

fas1k
mileage is average. Price is a little high, NADA puts it around 3,700. Some things too look at when buying a used bike, Tires, brakes, chain, sprockets, clutch adjustment (I.E. little adjustment usually means it will need replaced soon). Radio Flyer1647545514
Get one of these. http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/1975-honda-cb400-2.jpg
Radio Flyer1647545514
There are bikes on craigslist that are more new and have less miles for around the same price. I'm sure you can talk people down a little bit, but with bike season starting so soon I'd be looking to buy now before prices start going up a little bit more. Casper
To put it into perspective, I sold my 2005 ZX10 with 12K miles for $4500. KBB was $5700. Nobody is buying bikes right now. KBB has the retail price of that R6 at $4785. I'd offer them $4k out the door tops. Other than that, there are much better deals to be had out there: http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/1614831180.html http://mansfield.craigslist.org/mcy/1609025894.html http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/1614055793.html http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/1600552391.html http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/1584541145.html http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/1574551497.html

dover
Buy from a private seller or a hook up (PM Flattire), most businesses are over priced.
