Finally decided that it was time to take care of the swirls in the car's paint.

Started with a wash (Brother helping in the last):

Then tackled the exhaust tips (Dirty and then clean):

Then cleaned up the engine bay with P21s total auto wash and brushes:

Here are the problems I had to deal with 100% all over the car:

Pics of myself and the two brothers helping out (and goofing off lol):

After one pass (did a total of 3) notice it's better but still scratched up:

After polishing I went straight into sealant:

The arsenal of everything I used (about half of it is in the box):

Many thanks to my parents for letting me kick out their cars and stealing their garage for the weekend, to my brothers for helping the entire time, to Todd Cooperider (http://www.esotericdetail.com/) for his teachings on detailing and his many how-to guides that I now hold as detailing bibles.

Sorry for so many replies to myself, just trying to get the photos posted.

I love your car man. So clean! lol. Always been a big fan of the Infiniti G.

How'd you clean the exhaust tips? My system is only ~8000ish miles old. Used to be able to just scrub the grime right off, but i can't anymore.

What did you do?

Yeah after I went out for that scenic drive the car was already covered in dirt and dust lol... but it wiped down clean again!

for the exhaust

0000 grade steel wool and optimum metal polish, just put some elbow grease into it and then wiped it all down with microfiber. Redressed the exterior again with klasse all in one and then wiped it down after it hazed, came out nice and shiny :D

What products did you use for the swirls step by step

I followed this guide and used these products:

http://www.detailedimage.com/Ask-a-Pro/2005-bmw-m3-in-silver-grey-metallic/

Todd lives here in Columbus and I asked him a lot of questions and he helped a ton, he's a contributor for detailedimage.com and they have an 'ask a detailer' section where you can ask any questions you have ;)

great job, looking good!

Thanks!

She's doing better. She's had it pretty rough for the last year. She was released Easter morning, so that made everyone happy. I took a break for 30 minutes because I dont get along well with Hospitals. So I came down here to the shop, to pick a car up, before heading back. In the time it took me to pull a car out and get the other one out, "20 questions" stops by... Im like ahh dude hate to be rude, Im in a rush my grandmas in the hospital. He made it quick, I think it was only 7 questions!

Haha yeah that's I think his name is Alex, I saw his car up at Infiniti of Columbus a while back when I went up there to pick up my all season mats and splash guards.

Just spoke to IOC today and the splash guards they gave me were the wrong ones for my car, so I'm glad we didn't spray the one set lol. The guy thinks he might be able to get the other set in completely sprayed and ready to mount.

Glad to hear your Grandma's doing well :)
