TT Ford GT breaks the standing mile record at 266.9 mph. Veyron's top speed is 254mph as tested by Top Gear, and it took the car 5 miles at WOT to reach that speed. This GT goes even faster and does it in only 1 mile. That's hardcore. Granted it's not "stock" like the Veyron is either, but the Veyron is also a million dollars.(just for jones and his VeYron kick):p

As long as people use proper aero tech, the cars should remain stable enough to go much faster. The problem is creating enough downforce and stability throughout the run

There has to be a better video than that. Where is the time slip? I'm not saying it didn't happen, I just want to see more than just a weak launch video.

there video on yoputube of it, from under and in car, of it first pass's down the mile going 250 or so in texas

The GT is at least based heavily off the original racing design, made to handle at high speeds, so I guess that helps a ton.

With over 1,900 horsepower and about 41 pounds of boost added to it, no one should really be surprised to know that this particular Heffner Twin-Turbo Ford GT set a ridiculous standing-mile record during the recently-concluded Exotic Rally Miami One Mile last weekend.

After posting a pass of 249.7 mph - with 26 pounds of boost - at the Texas Mile a few weeks ago, the very same yellow Ford GT clocked a pass of 266.93 mph - with 41 pounds of boost - in Miami over the weekend. Whether or not the added boost in the car that ran in Miami contributed greatly to the higher top speed has been the point of contention regarding the Ford GT’s new record.

But regardless of what’s underneath the hood of the car, you can’t help but try picking your jaws up from the gravel after watching the car do its magic. Whether its 249 or 266, that banana-colored machine has some serious power under its hood.

they added 15 pounds of boost to go 17mph faster. Nice.

Here is the video that was made for 252. Since they made a video like that last time, you would think that the video would be better since they went 266.
