Stampede
A friend has this early 90s Lebaron, it over heats, from the fan not working. I'm going over tomorrow to check it out. First I'm going to jump the fan, to make sure it's not the fan. Would I jump the temp sensor or ground it make the fan run? What else should I look for? Thanks. Cordell
Should have a fan relay you can jump, and a couple fuses to check. A lot of times the fan itself going bad will blow fuses, but thats not a very good way to diag it. Then see if you're getting power to the fan, and find out what's breaking the circuit if it doesn't have power.
TA In Progress
These cars were bad about burning up fan motors due to their proximity to the front exhaust manifold. I had several different 90's V6 Chrysler products and all of them had to have the fan motor replaced (some more than once). Sometimes the fan will still run, just not fast enough.
