timmy43016
I just bought a Nikon DSLR and I need to look at the model number to see if these will fit. If so I would like to get one.

Standard Nikon mount. Should fit all of the current Nikon DSLRs.
timmy43016
So i have a standard lense i purchased it with...i dont know much about cameras, so do you think the 50mm is a big step up? My goals with a camera were to be able to take distance pics (better than the distance i get now...which is not much i tell you).
timmy43016
so here is the camera I picked up http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Nikon+-+10.2-Megapixel+Digital+SLR+Camera+-+Black/9456803.p?id=1218107268800&skuId=9456803 It says that the lense I purchased with is an 18 to 55mm so i may be looking for something a little bigger...unless i read that wrong. With having the 18-55 and wanting to have a farther reach, you will likely want to look at the 55-200 or the 70-300 lens. The 50mm is already covered, but the one I have for sale is supposed to be super sharp and does better in lower light.
SpaceGhost
A fast (F1.8) 50mm lens is mainly a portrait lens IMO Andrew. Opposite of what you want.
timmy43016
Thanks Ben and Rich. I traded in the old camera with a DSLR for the faster shutter speeds. The lens i have does that for my needs. I was looking for something that i could get a long range shot after being at the airshow in Dayton. I was under the impression that the one i got was only a 35mm. I will look for the 55-200 suggested. The other may be overkill. Thanks for dealing with my ignorance on cameras. I will go get some education. GLWS Rich.
