ODoyle
I have an 02 Explorer. A have a PO775 code and the overdrive light blinks rapidly. The code is a" pressure control solenoid b". Over drive doesn't work it does not want to shift nicely at all. Sometimes at freeway speeds it will shift up and down randomly causing violent jerking. I took it to a shop who was going to replace the solenoid pack but thinks its a better idea to rebuild the trans. Im looking for insight into typical problems with this model or other ideas. I don't want to have it rebuilt and it be a computer issue and be out the $1200 for the rebuild. Thanks in advance. James.

A loss of 2nd, 3rd, and 5th gear may have overdrive band or intermediate band failures due to servo pin case bore wear causing reduced apply pressure.
