Sam1647545489
What is the weak link in them. I need to build a high reving 350. Needs to spin 6k or so. Will the blocks hold that kind of revs and horsepower. This will be for my boat but I posted here so more people will see. I have a 750 double pumper carb already. Motor needs to make around 375-400 hp.
Nickey4271647545519
750 is to much carb for a 350, find a 650 or 700 even with that kind of HP thats all you will need. Also a stock bottom end with a decent cam and springs will spin 6k really easy.
NTHER91
I agree a750 is a lot of carb forsuch a little motor Break out the calculated and figure out VE and go from there VE = volumetric effecncientctcyerytfg

Carb calculators mean nothing on a boat, I found ideal was an 850 on a 377.

Sam1647545489
I dont have to use the 750, I was just given one so I figured I would toss it on there. So to be safe, would a stock bottom end be able to spin 6k rpm and be able to have it at that high rpm for a period of time.
Linn1647545492
With the Jegs top end kit we talked about that motor will spin 6k all day.
Dave1647545494
I would get the crank polished and balanced if your building one but the stocker and stock rods with new bolts will be fine at that rpm

Also dont forget to buy some good bearings for the motor. I like King bearings, but Clevite also makes some awesome bearings.

Patterson
Stamped steel rockers, over .480" lift can/will split. Get screw in studs, guide plates, and aluminum rockers as well.
NTHER91
you dont have to use a carb Calc but they are there for a reason... I mean why would a GM or Ford tech care about VE when Hillbillys can just use what they "know" works... no offense guys but My Math is stronger than your guess.. and a 377 is not a

Guest 614Streets
Get a one piece oil pump drive if the motor doesnt have one. I would run good one piece pushrods and roller rockers on it.
lowridns1020
You could destroke it. I know a lot of guys do it on circle track cars, though the common combo is a 400 destroked to 377.
XChris1632X
Sam I have some vortec heads laying around if you wanna go cheap and put a decent intake and cam setup. Vortec heads can breath nicely if worked over well and placed with the right parts.
Sam1647545489
Chris, I certainly do want them. Let me know a price and when I can snag them. I love to make good hp and spin the motor high on a cheap budget.
