All matching numbers too. Only thing it did not come with is the spare Magazine and the holster is missing the holder for another magazine that should have came with it. Mine was made by Mauser when Walther could not handle the workload the German Army was asking for http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/uniforms_firearms/firearms/p38/p38index.htm This came from the side of a German officer. I know some of the story but details I was never told... Not my last. CCW coming in the spring hopefully getting a nice lil 9mm compact of some sort. RyM3rC
Nice. Now go shoot it. P38s are good shooters, girls seem to like them too. I picked up a '50s German P38 awhile back when they were dirt cheap ($230?) but have since sold it and miss it. Don't let it go.

jjjxlr8
Let's see some pictures of your byf43! Only 144,300 of these produced by Mauser in 1943. What is the letter in the serial number?

jjjxlr8
If you plan on shooting any wartime P38, you should buy a Wolff spring set. Worn recoil springs can result in serious damage to the pistol.

jjjxlr8
That's a real beauty!!! Very nice pistol. "P"? Interesting. "p" usually means Jan. Feb. production in 1944. You should post some detailed pictures of this pistol on the p38forum.com. The experts on the p38forum can tell you more about it. Maybe it's a very unusual one? Be sure to take some photos of the inside of the grips. They are compiling some good data over there on the subject of grips and serial numbers.
