Benner
Mind if I ask why ur getting rid of them? That'd be badass to have a lionfish and an eel. I'd love a salt water setup.
MrMeanGreen
We're setting up a reef tank and they're not reef friendly, they'll eat the coral.
06busa
They will not eat the coral, but a lot of the inverts that go along with the reef setup. Is the lion eating frozen foods?
blue98ls1
They will not eat the coral, but a lot of the inverts that go along with the reef setup. Is the lion eating frozen foods? Interesting. We where told at Aquarium adventure they would destroy the coral if we put any in there with them. The setup also came with a puffer and they said we could keep him and get leather coral only and he would have no use for those and leave them alone but these would not. We also read similar things online. They are all eating frozen food.
MrMeanGreen
Maybe because some of the inverts live in the coral they'd destroy it to get to them? I dunno, but I have an idea of what fish I do want. I like the eel, but hear they pollute the water moreso than other fish.

Drewhop
Maybe because some of the inverts live in the coral they'd destroy it to get to them? This. The squirrelfish and eel are both crustacean eaters. Reef tanks thrive in captivity usually based on making sure you have the appropriate number of snails and other misc crustaceans in there to maintain the balance in your aquarium. Without them you risk the growth of cyano bacteria and hair algae. Both are known to "choke" corals. Plus if they like the taste of a coral they just might take a bite out of it. Pedro1647545510
I wish I had my 125 gallon tank ready.... I would take that lionfish off your hands in a New york minute if I did. It's a long ways away from being ready.
