The stock cooler is more than enough to suffice usually, unless its in a hot environment. For $29 I'd rather play it safe and have more than just the stock unit. When merging 5 or more 21mp 16 bit images my current system heats up quick. I think the upside to the new one is it won't take nearly as long and hopefully I'll rip through them faster. I really like the airflow set up of the case. Especially once I added the additional fans. And yes, the graphics card is needed! So many apps are supporting 3d acceleration, including many adobe ones. I do edit movies on occasions. Haven't recently, but they are mainly home movies of the kids and I just haven't time.
