In my cultural diversity class on tuesday we was talking about the LA riots. In that discussion we talked about the Korean shop owner who shot and killed a black girl who he "thought was stealing". Have you seen the videos of shop owners trying in sheer desperation to protect their livelihoods from the massive rioting crowds during the LA riots ? Korean store owners wife thought that the girl was stealing confronted her and got beat up. As the girl was trying to leave, the korean lady shot her in the back. And it was 5 years probation, 40 hour community service and 500 dollar fine. This was one of the catalysts of the LA Riots. The girl was never in the Riot.
