TTQ B4U
How fast is the lens? EF-S 18 - 55 mm F3.5 - F5.6 II lens Overall it won't be lens you'll use to shoot moving objects/sports. You could, but even on faster frame rates it will only capture at a rate of 3fps and the AF won't keep up well. It's a basic walk around lens. bucd
EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 but it does have decent image stabilization. No USM Focus. Overall it won't be lens you'll use to shoot moving objects/sports. You could, but even on faster frame rates it will only capture at a rate of 3fps and the AF won't keep up well. It's a basic walk around lens. Actually, if memory serves me right.... the xti did not come with the IS lens. I believe they started with the XSi and newer kits. OP can comment on that. That being said, this is a very solid camera. Depending on what you are wanting to do, this is a great starter kit for the price. -D

I believe they started with the XSi and newer kits. You're right. I was one model off. The 400D aka XTi's came stadard with the second gen 18-55's but no IS. I'll have to edit my post above.
