Last_in
I am looking at a truck with a V1p0r T56 in it. The owner said there is a noise in 5th and 6th. When I call him again today, I will ask him to describe the noise and take a video, if he is able to. Anyone know a thing or two about these t56's? Like, how much am I looking at for a basic rebuild? It will never see more than 500 at the crank, it's just going to be my daily. Worst case, I'll buy a new one but I hope I can get away with a rebuild. Also, any more questions I should ask about the noise in the last two gears? Thanks!
AJ
depends on whats wrong after its torn apart. could need those two gears. send it to RPM transmissions and have them go through it, worst case you already sent them a core for a new one. Last_in
Thanks, AJ. They aren't too far from Cincinnati. I sent them an email.
Richard Cranium
RPM is who I bought my new T56 from. They were cool to deal with. The new trans is in but the moser 9" going in behind it has been giving us fits, so I have not had a chance to drive the car with the new tranny. I don't think you can go too far wrong dealing with RPM.
Last_in
From RPM, $250 labor plus parts for repair. Not as bad as I was thinking!
