I haven't had my Sky for about 2 years, but this had me logging back on... I still have all the mags detailing the build. I heard through the grapevine that the car was crushed, but hopefully that's not true. There are a few companies that offer LSx swap kits cor the Sol/Sky. Prices range, but this shop is around $25k for the 600hp LS7 if they do the install. And tack on more $ if you want to upgrade the radiator, have functional A/C , true dual exhaust, etc. The DIY kit is about $3300. I had no clue those things were $35k new, that's ignorant for a 200ish hp 2 seater. I like the squared off lines of the Sky's a lot better, it's a shame they never made them in a coupe. Although, it'd be more of a shame for GM to have 2 200ish hp 2 seater coupes trying to sell them for $35k each. Uhh, the GXP coupes were 2.0L SIDI Turbos rated at 260 hp/260 ft-lbs. With the factory stage kit it's rated at 290 HP. The GXP's were stickered in the high $20's to low $30's, but some dealerships were charging more for the coupes since only a couple hundred were made. One just sold at Barrett-Jackson for ~$55k. Also consider that the avg. sales price of a car today is $29k, and $30-35k doesn't sound too bad. The coupes are hot, and if the economy didn't dump on me at that time I would have one. I still want one, but I don't think i'll ever find one for less than $30k. -Alex- Posted February 21, 2011 Report Share Posted February 21, 2011 I knew the GXP's and REDLINE's were the 260 hp turbo motors, I guess I just automatically thought of a base model since the last post above mine just said "Solstice coupe". Were they even available as a base model coupe or were all the coupes GXP's? Regardless of trim level and another 60 hp or so, my thoughts on a $35k Solstice still stand. The base models are actually more rare. 1266 coupes were built, including preproduction. Only 12 model year 2010's were made. Total breakdown: 850 GXP's, 416 base 2.4L's. Of those, 1057 sold in US, 122 exported to Mexico, 87 to Canada. Black was the most popular color at 388 cars. Teal metallic was the rarest at 1 car, specific for 2010 Canadian market.
