SpaceGhost
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/03/03/star-wars-franchise-to-be_n_831173.html?ref=fb&src=sp George Lucas has carried the Star Wars franchise with him through the last three decades, so its no surprise that LucasFilm and Fox are planning on giving Star Wars: Episode 1: The Phantom Menace, a theatrical re-release in 3D. The Phantom Menace will be released February 10, 2012 and the remaining five films will follow annually pending the success of Episode 1. The original Star Wars franchise revisited theaters in 1997 with retooled graphics for the special-edition version. Lucas is confident that Star Wars will translate successfully to the 3D experience and he will be "overseeing the process to make sure each is as perfect as possible." sol740
I loved seeing the original Star Wars trilogy re-released in the theaters, back in the day. JarJar not so much.
Furloaf
I hate 3D. I wish it would die. Until they develop dynamic focusing 3D technology, that tracks what your eyes are looking at and adjusts focus (basically realistic holograms), I have not the slightest interest in anything 3D. Same, but I do love me some Star Wars.

SpaceGhost
I'm thankful I can share the theater experience of Star Wars with my kids right around the same ages I saw the movies. I was 3 for episode IV. This would put Gabrielle at 8 and my Son at 4 for Episode IV. Most of these 3d movies are shown in 3d AND 2d. I took my daughter to "Tangled" and we watched it in 2D.
