zeitgeist57
Looking for a typical workshop bench vise. Let me know what you have!
Nitrousbird
Check out Harbor Freight - they ususally have a good selection at good prices.
nurkvinny
CL always has a few. Be careful on cheap vises. Any heavy duty work will snap them in half. This is a case where you get what you pay for. Not sure what you are needing it for...
zeitgeist57
Check out Harbor Freight - they ususally have a good selection at good prices. I was just there, but the vises available seemed really cheap for $40 to $75. I'd rather get someone's older, American-made vise that was their old dads or one on their bench that they don't use anymore...
nurkvinny
Just dawned on me Dad had two from the service station. They were the heaviest available from NAPA and Lowes in the late 80's / early 90's. I'll see if he wants to sell one.
Richard Cranium
I was going to recommend harbor freight too. But then I realized you wanted a bench vice, not a lump of shit closely resembling a tool used to hold work in place and mounted to a work bench. zeitgeist57
My bad, Rick...I did mean the "shitty" vise. I don't need a full-on bench vise unless I find a decent deal. I'm looking for a vise I can permanently attach to my workbench in the garage...

Xyster101
I have the Harborfreight special. I beat the crap out of it and it has been fine for 3 years. It does not feel as sold as the one my dad had growing up.
Dave1647545494
when spring comes hit the yard sales you can find a nice older american made vice for about 100 bucks..... stay far away from any of the china crap thats out right now unless you want to replace your vice all the time or hurt yourself
