Need more protective boots, opinions needed!

So my current A* tech boots only just meet the bottom of the Apex pants and I'm not real happy about that. So, I may get myself a pair of boots to go better with my leathers and save the techs for jeans and shorter trips. Here are a few boots I found online, I'm partial to anything white or red.

Anything from "those look cool, those look dumb," or even any personal experiences with these or the brands I want to hear it.

And yes, I am a :postwhore:

I just got the Sidi Vertigo Corsa's, and they're tits. The fastening/tightening system is certainly unique, but I love them. They look great, feel good, and they're a lot lighter than I would've expected them to be by looking at them.

:werd: Although I don't wear Sidi anymore, in my sportbike days they were all I wore. Very comfortable and durable.

Sidi's. Thread done.

I've got the regular Vertigo's and love em. Super super light and very comfy, and that's coming from someone with unbelievably bad feet (absolutely no arch, and I've got an extra bone in each foot above where my arch would normally be). I had a pair of normal old shoe insoles I already had lying around and put em in the boots, and now I could wear them around all day without complaint :)

Oo, 500th post

All the mags have really been talking up the new Sidi's but i'm not sure what you're wanting to spend (mucho dinero)

The new Vortice boots are 475$...damn nice boots (played with em at the pony) but godDAMN that's a lot of money for boots :o

Though I am very tempted to use Vortice parts to mod my Vertigo's. I'm sort of worried that the toes in my Vertigo's get very warm without any venting, so I'm thinking about ordering the toe sliders from the Vortice's and putting them on my Vertigos and punching holes in the toes so the vents work. I think the parts would swap between models; compared them at the store and they looked identical as far the general dimensions/shape go.

Well the third link down on my first post had the Vertigo Corsa for $289. I definitely don't want to break $300 if I don't have to. I especially like them in red with the CF accents.

It looks like one of the few pairs they've got left is your size and color, so I'd definitely jump on it. Personally for street use I don't see much need for another more than standard Vertigo's; the 425 MSRP for Corsa's is a bit steep in my opinion, but if you can get them for the ridiculous price of 299 and they fit and they're the color you like, you'd be insane to not get them :o Hell, you can probably get free shipping from newenough on those things thanks to their brand-specific shipping allowance.

So went by the Pony last night since it was on my way. Tried on some Sidi's, 46 was too snug and I had dress socks on, 47 was a little wider too.

So this morning I ordered the red Corsas! Thanks for everyone's input. It seems like people like a lot of different boots, but everyone I talked to that had the Sidi's was absolutely in love with them. That's worth a few extra $$$, hopefully these will last me quite a few years. Heck, maybe I won't even have to crash-test them.
