1997 Jeep Wrangler SE

I know this isn't the manliest colored Jeep in the world, but this unit is CLEAN!

Wife's wanting to sell the Jeep and trade in the BMW on a new Wrangler this weekend, so even though we've got a couple of locals pretty interested, I figured I'd throw this on here in case any members are interested.

I don't drive it every day, so I'm not as familiar with it as I am with my cars, but I'll do my best here.

1997 Jeep Wrangler SE

- 4 cylinder 5 speed manual

- Hardtop and half doors with sliding glass windows

- 163k miles

- Never been taken off-road by us or the previous owner, can't speak for any others

The good:

- Near mint newer 5 spoke TJ wheels with 4 fairly new Yokohama 31 x 10.5s and a matching spare with a never used factory tire

- In the last year it's had a new muffler, front pads and rotors, alternator, plugs and wires, headlights, and some other misc. things

- Will have a new windshield tomorrow (5-27-11)

- A/C recently charged and working

- Frame is in great shape, no noticable rust that I've found. I recently cleaned and painted it and the wheel wells. A couple small (dime sized) surface rust spots on the body in the typical Wrangler areas.

The bad:

- The exhaust is louder than I'd like, needs the gasket between the manifold and pipe replaced and a cat to quiet it down. Had a new muffler put on a few months ago and the guy told me the cat had been gutted, but I didn't want to spend the money to have it replaced at the time.

- Transmission is sometimes hard to get into 1st and reverse when sitting still. Goes in like butter when slowly rolling.

No trades, cash only. $4800 firm. That's the bottom dollar, and it's well worth it. Look around and I highly doubt you'll find a TJ this clean, clean title, hardtop, etc for anywhere near it.

Doesn't this look like a great time? Planned on taking pics with the top off, but there was rain coming. (Imagine that)

Bump. Took the top off and took about a 3 hour round trip yesterday. It's 100% reliable, my wife is a home health nurse and from day one about a year and a half ago when we got it, it's been driven all day every day across 3 counties and has never missed a beat.
